Sew & Tell Saturday!

Hi everyone and welcome to the last Sew& Tell Saturday for 2011. Next weekend is Christmas Eve so I won't be posting. I did have a project to post for today but didn't get around to editing the photos yet. It was mt daughter's 9th birthday Wednesday and we had we had a  family dinner party. Last night my husband and I went to his office party at The Shutters On The Beach Hotel in Santa Monica. We spent the night there and it was the first night we have spent away from our two year old. She stayed home with my mom. We missed her but it was nice to have some down time together. I went for a two hour rollerblade with my best friend on the beach and then spent all day making decorations for Lily's Angry Birds themed birthday party tomorrow.  I had no idea making a paper mache pinata would be so time consuming! I can't wait for things to slow down so I can get back to my sewing machine.
Here are  a few projects from the many lovely ones submitted last week:
I was in awe of this gorgeous cape/ coat combo made from Rachel at House of Pinheiro. It looks like something that just came off of the runways of Paris and she is also gorgeous! I love that it is a cape but also has a fitted aspect to it.
This Water Lily dress made from a sarong by A sewing Machine and an Umbrella is just perfect and makes me wish for summer.

I love this rayon dress Carolyn at Handmade By Carolyn made last week. Carolyn is such an amazing and prolific seamstress and designer! That lovely drape on her dress is due to its being sewn on the bias. I'm so jealous it's summertime in Australia where she lives!
This little self-drafted collared tartan pouf dress made over at Ragbags and Gladrags  is sure to please any little girl. I love the retro feel of it.

This bow detailed clutch bag from Sew Get Dressed is so feminine. It has a lovely fabric on the inside as well.
I hope you all aren't getting too stressed out during the holidays. I went to an amazing craft fair in Los Angeles last week called the Renegade Craft Fair

It's and indie craft fair with amazing handmade gift items held twice a year in Los Angeles, London, New York, San Francisco , Chicago, and Austin, Texas. I felt really good about buying some handmade gifts this year and supporting other small, crafty businesses.
So are you ready to post your projects at this weeks' Sew& Tell Saturday? I hope so. This party will be open all weekend.
