How to tell if your eggs are fresh

We forgot to check the chicken coop for a few days and hubby brought these eggs back from the coop but I was a little worried we might have a rotten one. A friend told me a way to tell if my eggs are fresh  and here is how:
Put your eggs in a pan or bowl of water. If they sink to the bottom they are good. If they start to bob or float they are rotten. That's all there is to it!

  1. What a great trick! Does this work with store bought eggs too?

  2. This is a great tip! My mom buys organic eggs from her neighbor and very often we get them too, they don't have an expiration date so I will be using this trick, thanks for posting it!
