Friday's Frock : A Striped Knit Dress, McCall's 6319

This Friday's Frock is a striped knit shift with pleats at one shoulder and one side of the waist. It also has a little moto- chic detail at one shoulder. I used the pattern McCall' 6319. If you are in the mood to make something kind of easy, stylish and every day wearable I would recommend this pattern. But make it in a size smaller than your normal size. The pattern runs a little too big for knit fabric which shouldn't have too much ease.

If any of you were following the contest Sew You Think You Can Sew, I am sad to say that I have been voted off.  I thought my little ruffle burlap pillow was really cute! I had a really fun toddler dress made from mens shirts planned for my entry next week too. But we mustn't let things like this get us down now, must we?
And look who I have to cheer me up!
I hope to see your projects tomorrow at Saturday Sew & Tell!
Have a fun weekend!

  3. Sorry to hear you were voted off. I voted for your pillow as I thought it was cute as well. The voting off idea seems a bit harsh - I would rather continue to see what people came up with for each theme, but I guess I'm not very competitive! :)

  6. Voted off?! damn, that's too bad. Well, you will have to continue making darling stuff like this week's frock. I love it. Thank you for the tip on sizing also.

I have some items to share tomorrow and maybe a muslin of my spring jacket. Can I include a messy muslin? Is that shareable? Chin up Justine!

  8. Very pretty! I like the pleating, and especially the trim on the shoulder!

Don't worry about the competition. I think it is adorable, and if you love it then that is what counts.

  9. I was referring to the cushion, not the competition, naturally! Sorry it sounded ambiguous! :D
