Welcome to Sew & Tell Saturday!
I hope everyone has had a nice week!
We had a busy and fun one.
It finally feels like summer around here!
We went to Disneyland and had a blast there as usual. I am like a big kid when it comes to that place. They renovated a couple of my old favorites like Small World and Pirates of The Caribbean. It was fun to see Disneyland through my youngest child's eyes. She was so amazed when she got to meet Minnie Mouse!
Today we went to the beach and it was gorgeous. Those of you who come to California and go swimming in the ocean are often surprised about how cold the water from the Pacific Ocean is here. But on a hot day it's very invigorating to jump in the ocean.
We also had some company, a children's book illustrator I met at the Craftcation conference and her three children were camping nearby so they came by for a barbecue and to check out the old homestead. Our kids had a lot of fun playing outside!
As you can probably guess, I haven't gotten much sewing done and time is ticking away for the opening of the play I am costuming and I still have several costumes to make! This weekend the old sewing machine will be whirring away.
I had a guest post over at Project Run & Play this week, and have two more coming up at Melly Sews next week and Family Ever After next month.
Guest posting is a little nerve wracking because you are trying to put your best foot forward and are terrified to do a really lame post on someone's blog who was nice enough to invite you to post!
Here are some featured posts from last week!
Sew In Harmony took her little girls to Disney World this week and made these darling Minnie Mouse style dresses for them to wear!
They are so cute with the Converse sneakers to match!
If you are really ambitious The Red Headed Mommy explains in detail how she designed and created this gorgeous, boned bodiced Steampunk dress in a tutorial. It's worth a look to see all the work that goes into making a dress this detailed.
On the crafty side Charlotte Sew Far So Good has an easy little tutorial to make these cute scissors covers.
Post your sewing and crafty projects !

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear you had a great time at Disney--it brings out the kid in all of us! Good luck with all the guest posts (I'm so intimidated by doing that) and thank you so so much for the feature! Have a great weekend!
